We are looking for an Audio Programmer to join us on an exciting new multiplayer arcade/sports title.  This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in directly contributing to the game's "sound signature." 
 
In this highly collaborative role, you will support the Audio Team by developing features and systems from the ground up.  You will also contribute to the programming team's collective knowledge and help to architect, plan, and troubleshoot development, to deliver on the high-level Audio aspirations for the game.
 
As an Audio Programmer working with the project’s Technical & Audio Leadership, you will champion quality across the project and collaborate with all disciplines in the delivery of an exciting new AAA franchise.
 
You will join an experienced group of talented developers who share a passion for creating AAA quality games.  Your skills and perspective will complement a team built on transparency, trust, and integrity; a team who are not afraid to challenge ourselves in the pursuit of excellence.

Within this role you will:

  • Work closely with Code Leadership to plan, estimate, and write high-quality performant Audio systems. 
  • Work closely with the Audio Team to review feature specifications and provide input where possible.
  • Prototype and implement impactful, reusable, and modular Audio features and systems.   
  • Design, write and test efficient code that meets and exceeds internal quality criteria.
  • Contribute to regular code reviews, championing code quality and best practices.
  • Work with and extend third-party tools & plugins, to support Audio Designer workflows.
  • Writing, supporting, and extending VO, Localisation, and Dialogue systems.
  • We need you to have:

  • Understanding of what makes a game sound and feel great.  A critical ear is a must.
  • Solid understanding of advanced audio concepts (mixing, signal flow, 3D positional audio, occlusion, obstruction, audio propagation, data compression, reverb, reflections, streaming and memory footprint, etc.)
  • 3+ years games industry experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of C++
  • Experience working with Wwise Audio middleware.
  • Experienced in developing Audio-specific features and systems on at least one published title.
  • Be receptive to critical feedback, evolving Designs and iteration.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Initiative.
  • You will also need to:

  • Think critically and apply analytical skills in resolving complex issues.
  • Mentor less experienced programmers.
  • Nice to haves:

  • Console programming experience.
